What was the relationship of Greek art to Greek history, politics and society?

I really can’t find any relationships, can you help me?

Greek art was perfection: the sacred vessel of the gods was he athlete’s body. There was a mathematical relationship between all the parts of the body. This carried over to the the mythos they believed alive all around them. But, like most humans today, they also argued the point, debating the whys and wherefores of the universe and the Olympians’ intents. This led to different city-states and differing societal examples.
